Container desiccants deliver long-lasting protection from the risks of moisture damage to cargo caused by high humidity levels in shipping containers as they transit around the globe. Moisture absorbing desiccant packs absorb water from the ambient air within shipping containers, reducing humidity levels and reducing the risk of damage to precious cargo caused by corrosion, mould, and damaged or defaced packaging.
Our anti-moisture desiccant packs provide suitable dehumidification for many types of sensitive cargo, including for electronics, metal parts, furniture and many other packaged cargo susceptible to damage from corrosion, mould and damp conditions.
500g Strip container desiccant packs are our most flexible packs, capable of being used both vertically within the recess of container wall panels but also affixed on to the top pallets and crates using the adhesive backing. 500gram Strips are smaller and more easily placed into awkward and tight position than our larger 1kg hanging desiccants, making them a useful mid-size pack size.
Our desiccant bags, made from calcium chloride and starch, absorb 200-300% of their weight in water—far exceeding silica or clay alternatives. Their high absorption capacity reduces the number of units needed, lowering costs and simplifying handling. They continue absorbing moisture for up to 45 days, keeping cargo dry during long shipments. The absorbed moisture turns into a gel, preventing leaks and ensuring no recontamination occurs, even when fully saturated.
